Album Review

Gems from Mozart “Music soothes the soul”
This CD brings a collection of gems by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Distinguished performers pay tribute to the genius loci of the town they have made their home. The Salzburg Mozart is also the European Mozart, the world musician. All the more appropriate, then, that Russian soprano Julia Arsentjeva joins American soprano Charlotte Pistor, Croatian hornist Radovan Vlatkovic and Carinthian flautist Michael Martin Kofler in Salzburg to perform operatic arias, sacred music and chamber music. Together with the Mozart Quartet, Mozart Consort, and the Salzburg Cathedral choir and orchestra under their Hungarian conductor Janos Czifra, they perform some of Mozart’s loveliest melodies.
